Book Projects are DUE Friday!
Here is a great example of a story mobile.
If you would like to present the book project
this way, I think would be a GREAT idea!
(and very easy to display)

Story Mobile

You will need:

  1. Have your child fold the sheet of construction paper in half lengthwise, then fold it in half width wise to create four equal-sized rectangular sections. Unfold the paper and lay it flat on a table.
  2. Use a crayon or marker to label each of the four sections with one of the following titles: First, Then, Next, Last.
  3. Encourage your child to draw a picture & write about in each section to represent the sequence of events in their chapter book that they have been reading for the project.
  4.  (Before they begin, encourage them to retell the story they read aloud to help them decide which events to illustrate.)
  5. After they complete their drawings, have your child cut along the folds to separate the sections of paper into four pieces.
  6. Punch a hole in the top of each piece of paper. Tie a length of string through each hole and attach the string to the hanger. Then, add the book’s title to a strip of paper and tape it to the inside of the hanger to complete the mobile.
  7. Variation: Instead of a sequencing mobile, create a story elements mobile.
Simply have your child draw pictures that illustrate the following elements &
write about each element on the back.
     Characters, Setting,Beginning, Middle, End,
